Just Say Riely: Period Products Available at Solas

Sometimes a small bit of support can make a big difference.

Over the past while, Solas Family Resource Centre has been able to offer free period products to our local community, thanks to a generous donation of Riely period products from Galway Rural Development.

We wanted to make sure these products reached the people who needed them, so rather than making things complicated, we kept it simple.

Just call in and take what you need.

No Forms. No Questions.

We encouraged individuals, clubs, groups and schools to call into Solas and take period products for anyone who might need them. There was no need to fill out a form, explain why they were needed or feel embarrassed about asking.

Just take what you need.

We know that period products are an everyday essential, but for some people and families, the cost of buying them can be another expense that is difficult to manage. Having free products available means one less thing to worry about.

Sharing What We Have

This is what community is all about – looking out for each other and making sure that useful resources get to the people who need them. A box of period products sitting on a shelf in Solas is helpful, but getting those products into the hands of someone who needs them is what really matters.

That’s why we were happy to encourage local schools, clubs and groups to take products with them too. They could make them available to young people, members or anyone in their community who might benefit.
